To the Mama, Barely Holding On

You are amazing! How do you do it all? Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, cooking, playing, worrying, snuggling….the list is endless.

You are enough.

I see you getting up early to get that project completed. I see you using every ounce of energy left to tuck those babies in at night. You are my hero.

I hear your worries. That bill will get paid… always seem to find a way. It’s alright the kids ate chicken nuggets for dinner, again. You’re doing the best you can!

I feel your heartache. Sometimes you lose your cool. Sometimes you can’t keep up. Sometimes you have to say, “I need a minute alone.” It’s okay!

But Mama, let me tell you something. You have never given up. You have bad days, but they are no comparison to the good.

You live for the smiles. You work hard for the laughter. You keep going because you’re an exceptional Mommy!

I see you and I am proud. I hear you and I understand. I feel your pain and you are not alone. See those tough times as a blessing. They make you grateful for the beautiful moments.

Mama, keep your head up! You are doing a great job!

Do you sometimes feel like you’re never enough? I get it….we ALL do!  You are present, you are their rock.  Know that you ARE good enough.  Realize you never  get a break.  When you’re with them, you’re “on duty.”  When you’re without them, your mind is praying they’re okay.  MAMA WAKE UP!  Bad days come and bad days go.

Why you woke up that morning….for your babies.  Why you went to that job that overwhelms you…..because you want the best for them! Why you got up out of that bed….because you’re an EXCEPTIONAL mommy!!!

I know it’s hard and I know you wonder if you can keep going but Mama, you WILL no matter WHAT!

Thank you so much for this. I really needed it. I feel this way all the time. I always think I’m making the wrong decisions but I do live for the smiles and I do wake up everyday to take care of my girls. I love them so much, it hurts sometimes. Thanks!!

As Mama’s we mess up, we don’t always make the right decisions, but as you said, “I love them so much, it hurts sometimes.” We love them and want nothing else to do EVERYTHING perfect! You care, you’re trying and you are enough! Hope you remember you’re an exceptional Mama!

This post is so sweet. I’m so glad there’s moms like you who love on others and lift them up. I’ll definitely be sharing this post with some mommas!

Thank you! As Mama’s we often have a tribe of admirers (our babies) who aren’t able to tell us EXACTLY what we need to hear. I wrote this at a time that I needed some uplifting. I thought, “What do I need to hear right now to get me out of this funk.” Thank you for your encouragement and I hope others get some smiles and relief when they read this!

Thank you for this! Sometimes we all all feel like we are barely holding on even though we are doing everything we can, as you said, for our little ones. Being a mom can be very overwhelming, but we do eventually get it all done! Perfect words of encouragement if you are having a rough mom day!

Thank you! It came from the heart…I thought, what do I need to hear right now? I struggle daily with “Mom Guilt” and I hope to let others know that they’re not alone and they’re doing a great job!

Great encouragement 🙂 I wrote about this too recently, though more specifically Comparison in Motherhood.
All we need to do is look around and acknowledge that we’re all just doing the best we can as mothers and see that we all struggle with the same things. We are doing enough and we are enough!

So true! “Mom Guilt” is something we all struggle with daily! It’s good to get a reminder that we are all struggling with the same things and it’s OKAY!
